Injury on Duty (IOD)

As occupational therapists, we provide Injury on Duty (IOD) assessment and rehabilitation services to support employees who have been injured at work and need assistance with recovery, function, and safe return to work. Our role includes assessing how the injury affects the patient’s ability to perform daily activities and work-related tasks, providing appropriate therapy where needed, and offering practical recommendations to support healing, independence, and workplace participation. We may also assist with functional assessments, progress reports, return-to-work planning, workplace recommendations, and detailed report writing to help employers, case managers, insurers, and medical professionals make informed decisions. Our goal is to support both the injured employee and the workplace through a professional, ethical, and function-focused rehabilitation process.
